A 100 sqm Material Library at the Heart of the Design Process

INTRODUCTION

At Maison Cartron, materiality forms one of the foundations of architectural design.

Located within our Parisian offices, our 100 sqm material library brings together textiles, stone, wood, metals, leather, special finishes and pieces developed exclusively for certain international projects.

A LIVING SPACE FOR RESEARCH AND CREATION

Constantly enriched by our teams and by our material library manager, it serves as a living space for research, selection and transmission.

Within this space, we welcome:

suppliers,

editors,

artisans,

clients,

and international partners.

Our teams develop material boards there and immediately confront materials with one another in order to observe their reactions to light and their interactions within space.

COLLABORATION WITH THE WORLD’S MOST PRESTIGIOUS SUPPLIERS

Maison Cartron works in close collaboration with some of the world’s most prestigious suppliers and artisanal houses.

This proximity allows us to:

identify the most suitable craftsmanship,

develop specific elements,

and design entirely bespoke pieces.

Within this approach, the material library becomes a true architectural design tool.

CONCLUSION

Far more than a technical space, Maison Cartron’s material library constitutes a physical extension of our design methodology.

It allows each project to be rooted in a culture of detail, materiality and precision characteristic of the French approach to luxury interior architecture.
